I can offer 1:1 chair-based exercises. Chair-based sessions can be very useful for more elderly clients, or people needing to rehabilitate from an injury, or surgery. The session could involve some seated exercises, or be predominately seated, depending on your needs.
Balance training can be incorporated into these sessions, which will help to improve your confidence to get out and about more easily.
A full assessment of your needs will be made on the first session. Recommendations will be made and an exercise plan designed to suit your individual requirements and goals.
Benefits of starting a chair-based exercise session include:
- strengthening muscles around joints, to keep them supported and less painful
- promoting better range of movement, through increased flexibility and joint movement
- balance training to prevent trips and falls
- better breathing practise
- promoting blood flow
- increased self-confidence
- improved posture
- aiming to reduce the need for pain medication
- rehabilitating existing injuries
- maintaining independence
- exercises that are easy to complete at home
- a specific exercise plan to suit individual needs
- affordable sessions
- times to suit you
- ability to do the sessions in the comfort of your own home
- experienced and highly qualified GP referral instructor
- learning ways to keep yourself healthier and injury free

Chair-based Pilates. A brilliant way of getting back to exercising after an ankle break. Great way to conquer issues such as balance difficulties. Made such a difference to me, with a lovely instructor. Never looked back. Thank you Vicki.

Vicki, you have certainly helped me. I had back pain and struggled first thing in the mornings, bending down and getting out of a chair. I feel I am standing straighter now and no back pain in the mornings. I actually played football with my grandchildren at the weekend which was my aim as I am a pensioner. Your lessons are interesting as you explain exactly what we are doing, which muscles we are using and how it will help. Thank you so much.

I started attending Vicki’s classes around 2 years ago and I have found that they have benefitted me in many ways. I no longer suffer with lower back pain, my posture has improved and I have less aches and pains. Also my core strength and suppleness has improved. Vicki is friendly, professional and passionate about teaching the many benefits of Pilates. Vicki’s classes are fun, interactive and suitable for all.

I have a twisted spine and suffered with severe pain for a long time. I visited a Chiropractor regularly to ease the pain. Then I was introduced to Vicki’s Pilates, with her gentle and effective sessions I have felt a big difference. Although my spine won’t completely heal itself I am no longer in constant pain and am visiting the Chiropractor less frequently. I go to her classes every week and I love it, as it’s done in a light-hearted mood and is still achieving results.

I have been going to Vicki’s classes for nearly a year now. I absolutely love them. It’s my me time and there would have to be a serious emergency for me to miss a week. I feel better in myself and definitely fitter and stronger.

A lovely fun teacher who checks out any aches and pains with each individual before starting each class, and then gradually eases us in to each exercise. I would also mention that the classes are of mixed ages so some of us are extremely simple and others not so. Vicki, you’re a great teacher

Having been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis of the spine, I started attending Vicki’s classes. I have been going for 6 months and am already noticing a big improvement in my mobility. The classes are now an important part of my weekly routine and they are worth every penny. Thank you, Vicki
