Cardiac Rehab Class
I am running a new Cardiac Rehab Phase IV Class at the YMCA in Loose. This class is suitable for anyone who has suffered a cardiac event.
The class is a cardiovascular training class, set up as a circuit based exercise session. There is also a resistance training element, but the main focus is on building cardiovascular endurance.
I am a Specialist BACPR Cardiac Rehabilitation Instructor (British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation). I work with the Phase III Cardiac Unit at Maidstone Hospital, to provide exercise sessions immediately after the Phase III exercises are completed.
Our classes are held at the lovely exercise studio at the YMCA, which has great parking facilities and a cafe, if you wish to stop by after the class.
Prior to attending the class, please contact me to discuss your medical history. If you have just finished Phase III please let me have a copy of your paperwork. You do not need to come straight from Phase III, you can be referred by your GP, or directly refer yourself.
I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding the class. I can assure you that it is a friendly and welcoming session and it will be a great help to you in your recovery. Our aim is to help you to learn how to monitor your exercise intensity and your body’s response to it, so that you have confidence to join any mainstream exercise class, or exercise by yourself. The class is not limited to a number of sessions, you can attend for as long as you need to.
Vicki’s Cardiac Phase IV Class gives me a a lifeline to not only monitor and maintain my fitness levels but to also build up my confidence about living with heart failure. Her friendly, informative and inclusive style keeps me on track, and chatting with others at the group lets me know I’m not alone with my condition.
